art
Art is a word that should be reserved for a special kind of thing. Ultimately, art is a medium through which ideas are propagated in some excellent form.
My personal art must pass four self-imposed requirements before entering the art category. It must:
- Convey an idea
- Be done with excellent craft
- Target an intended audience
- Pass the rigor of peer review
Once a piece satisfies these four requirements it can then be qualified as art. While I produce a variety of art attempts, very few actually rise to this level. It’s the nature of the beast.
